Air Conditioning: Expert-proven efficiency
High Efficiency Inverter Technology in LG’s new air-conditioning units allows consumers to enjoy comfortable and healthful cooling.
The LG Inverter V split-type air conditioner boasts of the highest Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) at 15.30 in the Philippines. LG’s cutting-edge inverter technology enables the new air conditioner to consume less energy than conventional air conditioners and to cool a room extremely fast. Also, it has the world’s lowest operating noise level of a mere 19dB and the highest energy efficiency, saving up to 60 percent compared to previous non-inverter model.
It also offers a range of healthcare features designed to help protect consumers from allergens and viruses like A(H1N1), while it upgrades the home environment with its stylish design.
According to tests conducted by the KITASATO Research Center of Environmental Science in Japan, 99.9 percent of A(H1N1) viruses were killed in 24 hours by LG Inverter’s total virus filter system. In addition, the Health+ Inverter has received certification for anti-allergenic functionality from the British Allergy Foundation in the UK and anti- bird flu functionality from authorities including the Osaka Prefectural Institute in Japan and the FITI Testing and Research Institute in Korea.

Refrigerators: Have a heart that saves the earth
Refrigerators are big consumers of power. With its newest range of refrigerators, LG’s breakthrough Inverter Linear Compressor Technology ensures consumers’ food stays farm fresh, while also delivering big cuts in energy consumption.
The compressor is the heart of a refrigerator. LG’s Linear Compressor technology enables its refrigerators to be industry leaders in energy savings, freshness, noise level, capacity and durability. It enables 41% more efficient in energy saving than A-rated ones with lowest noise by having one friction driving the piston. Conventional compressors have four friction points that cause more energy loss.

RAOUL brings guests on an exotic journey at its Spring Summer 2011 Runway Show
RAOUL’s presentation of its Spring Summer 2011 collection was a great escape for guests as they were transported from the hustle and bustle of the city to a place reminiscent of long summer days and the romance of travel.
RAOUL’s Creative Directors, Odile and Douglas Benjamin were largely inspired by Michelangelo Antonioni’s The Passenger, where the exotic locations were the perfect backdrop to both Jack Nicholson and Maria Schneider looking effortlessly chic in the movie.
Fresh faced models with casually mussed hair and loose ponytails strutted around the U-shaped catwalk in looks that expressed their versatility and practicality, while reflecting old school glamour. Silhouettes were influenced by the 70s, but with a contemporary flair: From intricate lace that featured on playsuits and mini dresses to color blocked pieces and chic paperbag style shorts and skirts, the collection provided the ladies options for work, play and travel. The men’s collection was equally appealing, offering a unique combination of masculine styles in a light and refreshing pastel palette.
MediaCorp celebrities Pierre Png, Andrea de Cruz, Yvonne Lim, and Member of Parliament Michael Palmer sipped on bubbly and nibbled on a selection of delectable canapés through the evening.

Philips LED Lights up Starbucks at The Fort
When Rustan Coffee Corporation (Starbucks Philippines) opened the Philippines’ first green and environment-friendly Starbucks store, the decision to light up with Light Emitting Diodes (LED) solutions from Philips was a clear choice.
This new Starbucks store uses LED lighting solutions throughout the building to provide customers with bright, yet soothing, ambient lighting conditions to enjoy their favorite brews. Externally, the building is also lit to catch passer-bys’ attention creating a welcoming location in The Fort.
“Starbucks is always looking for ways to improve the environmental performance of our stores. Designing, building and operating our stores in ways that reduce our impact on the planet is important for us. That is why we have incorporated everything from responsible building materials and furnishings to energy- and water-efficient measures into our store designs,” said Mr. Noey Lopez, Chief Operating Officer for Starbucks Philippines.
Philips, the world’s leading lighting solutions provider, shares the same vision and provides its customers, like Starbucks, with efficient and environment-friendly solutions, while simultaneously enhancing the overall aesthetics of the building structure.
This new and revolutionary Starbucks store is also working towards being LEED* Certified. Securing a LEED certification is the stamp of international approval that every structure with green designs aspires to achieve. Though complying with the LEED requirements isn’t easy, Starbucks believes that they have taken the first steps in doing so by partnering with a company who has made it its mission to be a “green” advocate.
